lyrics
Death is drawing nearer every day of life
No chance escaping, fate's already rolled your dice
Don't follow their commands, they don't apply to you
You're not their servant, no you ain't their trusty fool.
Keep on breaking through, keep on breaking through
I've handed you the keys and now it's up to you
Let me hear you howl, let me hear you howl
Biting through the chains around your soul
Come on brothers raise your fists, we've had enough
Let us show them how their whips have made us tough
We'll march like one to break their hearts of stone
With iron hammers we shall crush their golden thrones.
Keep on breaking through, keep on breaking through
I've handed you the keys and now it's up to you
Let me hear you howl, let me hear you howl
Biting through the chains around your soul.
Don't speak.
I've heard it all before.
Be still.
As death is on your door.
Time runs.
So fast you can't escape.
Don't wait.
Enough the hesitation now.
Keep on breaking through, keep on breaking through
I've handed you the keys and now it's up to you
Let me hear you howl, let me hear you howl
Biting through the chains around your soul.
If Elric had a soundtrack it would be this. It's everything you want from a epic metal album. Like a hot poker in the eye, but in a good way. Scott Malthouse
So I can't leave a long enough review to say everything I want. But I will say this, I love this EP. It's a great little follow up to times, and has just enough of a dynamic shift in sound to prove that Smoulder isn't a one trick pony with their first album's formula. This one really plays up the 70s prog aspects (DUST and Manilla Road influences definitely shine through even harder here). It's still Smoulder, don't get me wrong. Just a different side in some ways, all of which are good. playfulpooka
As others have said here, a definite staple in the NWOTHM movement. It has a raw sound that is reminiscent of the era while being a solid banger for a debut album. caffeinatedmetalhead
